The UCA-6120 is also useful for providing Ethernet connections in excess of the normally permitted 100m. With a maximum range of 350m, a pair of UCA-6120s can become a low cost alternative to fibre-optic media or can simply save the cost of having to add an in-line repeater on standard Ethernet connections.

The units are effectively plug 'n' play with no complicated set-up procedures. Simply connect the cables and fix into position then plug in any Ethernet device - IP cameras, access controllers, video servers or any other Ethernet compliant piece of equipment. The adapters convert the symmetrical send/receive Ethernet signals into asymmetrical signals and then combine them to be transported over a single strand of copper.
