The PowerDsine PD-AS-601 Power over Ethernet Active Splitter enables the easy integration of Power over Ethernet technology into legacy equipment.
Power over Ethernet is a technology that accommodating data signals and power lines, running together over the same Ethernet twisted pair cable, from the central Ethernet switch up to the end device.
Implementation of this technology simplifies the network infrastructure significantly, eliminating the need of power cables for all the IP devices as specific devices may be powered centrally.
Using the same LAN infrastructure, and without making any modifications to the end points, installed devices, such as Wireless LAN access points and Network Cameras become Power over Ethernet enabled when connected to the active splitter.
The PD-AS-601 Power over Ethernet Active Splitter enables devices which lack built-in support for Power over Ethernet to receive both power and data from a network connection.
The PowerDsine PD-AS-601 converts the voltage of -48V DC running on the converged line into a voltage of +5V DC (PD-AS-601/5) or +12V DC (PD-AS-601/12) according to the end point device specifications.
