Axis
Axis Takes Surveillance to New Heights
Axis Communications today announced the introduction of a new generation network video products built upon the in-house developed ARTPEC-3 chip. The new product generation includes H.264 video compression standard which is more cost efficient and will simplify deployment and management of large systems.
Hospitals
Stafford General Hospital saves 56% in installation costs by upgrading a CCTV system to IP-Surveillance
Stafford General Hospital selected Axis Communications for the provision of network cameras and video servers in order to extend and update its surveillance system. The selection of a networked surveillance solution rather than a traditional analogue-based Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system saved the hospital more than £42,000* in installation costs alone.
Schools
Guernsey College of Further Education needed to find a way to reduce vandalism and theft on their campus
The entire solution relays digital video images to a central server, where they are stored and reviewed if an incident is reported. "Theft and vandalism have largely disappeared while lecturers claim students are better behaved and staff working late feel safer".
Newport Schools Introduce IP-Surveillance Solutions
“We are delighted to have won yet another award and hope that other councils follow our example. This surveillance solution has enabled us to dramatically reduce the level of anti-social behaviour, vandalism and damage in these schools, saving £45,000 in window replacement costs alone in the year to April 2003. Staff also feel safer working late in schools as they can be escorted on camera to their cars and teacher morale has risen.”
A new look at School Surveillance
What if you could have a modern, state-of-the-art surveillance system that helped to reduce wilful damage to school property thereby cutting the school’s refurbishment costs and delivering a measurable return on investment? What if that same surveillance system could be used to ensure the safety of staff and pupils during schools hours? What if this could be achieved without installing any extra cable?
