For installations with multiple cameras, the UCA-6820 can be used to convert all incoming coaxial signals to fully transparent IP connections to a central switch. All remote adapters are powered from this device which consists of two 19” rack-mounted housings containing 2 x’s 4-port cards (UCA-6424)

By employing the UCA-6820 in combination with multiple UCA-6120's it is now possible to use existing coaxial cable to transmit fully specified Ethernet signals transparently across a link of up to 350m. A power transmission capability (maximum 60W) means that no power is required at the remote end and this can further reduce the cost of new installations.

The UCA-6820 is also useful for providing Ethernet connections in excess of the normally permitted 100m. With a maximum range of 350m, a comination of the UCA-6820 and UCA-6120's can become a low cost alternative to fibre-optic media or can simply save the cost of having to add an in-line repeater on standard Ethernet connections.

The units are effectively plug 'n' play with no complicated set-up procedures. Simply connect the cables and fix into position then plug in any Ethernet device - IP cameras, access controllers, video servers or any other Ethernet compliant piece of equipment. The adapters convert the symmetrical send/receive Ethernet signals into asymmetrical signals and then combine them to be transported over a single strand of copper.
